Isabela C. Ribeiro, PhD, MSc, is a 2010 graduate from the Epidemic Intelligence Service Program at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention/National Center for Environmental Health. Dr. Ribeiro earned her Doctoral degree in Nutrition in 2007¬†and her Master in Science degree in 2001 from the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil. She has served as an Assistant Professor at the Pontiff Catholic University of Parana in Curitiba, Brazil since 2001, teaching public health, nutrition and epidemiology to future health professionals. In her career, Dr. Ribeiro’s has focused on studying the determinants of obesity among children and youth living in the developing world, promoting best practices for preventing diseases among the maternal and child group, studying and evaluating community interventions, programs and policies for preventing chronic diseases, and supporting the growth of the public health workforce in developing countries.
