Doctor Legetic is a Regional Adviser of prevention and control of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs), at the Pan American Health Organization- World Health Organization (PAHO/WHO). Dr. Legetic Holds a PhD degree in prevention of chronic non communicable diseases from University of Novi Sad, School of Medicine, Serbia, and a master’s degree from the same university on integrated cardiovascular health prevention. Dr Legetic is also specialized in community medicine and organization of health services, her areas of expertise are: health promotion, chronic disease prevention, health care planning and evaluation, capacity building, health economics and epidemiology of NCDs. Dr. Legetic is currently responsible for following technical areas: surveillance of NCD (including Risk Factors and determinants), prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases and special project on capacity building called CARMEN school. Dr Legetic has published numerous papers in the area of chronic disease prevention and health promotion.
